Phoebe is home!

Thursday after class, I went and picked up my pug puppy, Phoebe! She is quite adorable! She likes sleeping all curled up on my chest! So cute! I found a LOL cat pic that is appropriate for how my cats feel, I am sure! Chloe has hissed and smacked poor Phoebe and the look on Phoebe's pug face was funny when it happened! I scooped her up quickly so hopefully no damage could be done! Pandora and Felix have just been sniffing her and not really sure what to think.





Our first night was a little rough. I had only had two hours of sleep the night before and wanted to sleep soo bad! This was also Phoebe's first night without her litter mates so she cried a lot! I ended up putting her to bed with me and she was happy and feel asleep. I didn't get that much sleep and was exhausted the next day! I think each day has improved with the crate training.

Just a note . . .

I have been blogging but then saving it instead of publishing it. I was planning on adding pictures and even finish my post on CKC-St. Louis and never got around to it. I have mass published what I have been wanting to finish editing. I never did finish my post on CKC-St. Louis and hope to do that when I have more time. That might be after graduation! I have been busy and not blogging as much but hope to get back to normal blogging after this semester is over!

Phoebe is coming home!

Who is Phoebe you say? That is my new pug puppy!!! I should be asleep right now as I have to get up at 6am. I am excited about getting my puppy! I went after class tonight and bought a few items. Phoebe and I will go back to the pet store tomorrow to get food and anything else that we might think we need! I am nervous and excited about getting my puppy. I am nervous on the fact on I don't know how my cats are going to take to my puppy and also about house training!!! I wish dogs were like cats in house training. I have been given lots of tips on how to house train a dog. I just hope it goes smoothly!



Many stressful things are going on in my life! Getting sick didn't help me at all. I am much better but still have a cough but much improved. If I do too much, I do get a little short of breath. Then I had my printer die on my last Friday! I was getting ready to print a bunch of articles for school and my printer had froze up. No problem as this has happened before. I would just unplug it for awhile and then plug it back in. It somehow resets it and would print. Not last week! It has been dead! It won't do one thing when any buttons are pushed! My parents had a printer they weren't using so I went and borrowed it but I needed to get cartridges. While I was at Best Buy I learned that they don't have the cartridge I need. I took a look at the printers and saw the HP Photosmart C7280 and the guy told me that was a great printer and that it was on sale. It was normally a $300 printer but was for $179. After reading about it, I bought it! I have been in love with this printer ever since getting it. It is wireless so I can print from my laptop and desktop! It prints pictures fast! It also has individual colors! It also has the fax machine like my other one. But anyway, I can't wait till school is over as much of my stress will be greatly reduced.

I have been very stressed lately because of school. One thing that was really stressing me out was this History class. I had a deadline of April 30th to get this done. I accomplished it!!!! I took my last exam last night. I handed in a paper and I don't know my grade yet. I have been checking Blackboard OFTEN just to see if he has posted it. Nothing yet.

The next HUGE stresser is my Capstone class. That class is unbelieveable in what she is wanting us to accomplish in 4 weeks! I have three research papers due. One every Monday till the last week of school. I turned my first one in last Monday and it truly wasn't a good paper. I am so afraid of what kind of a grade I am going to get! I had been sick all last week and did the best I could with all the other assignments I had due. I had to work Friday, Saturday and Sunday. That left me with getting it done on Monday on little sleep. I had been doing a little bit everyday before/after work but I never really was able to get that much accomplished. After I got started on the paper and started thinking of it later, I don't feel like I did it correctly. I didn't do an article search as it was my own personal mission statement and career path. I talked about these items and then I noticed that you needed multiple outside sources. Poo!! I was afraid of History causing me the reason not to graduate but it might be Capstone!

Okay, I have complained enough about school. I do have lots more but I have to be at work by 0830 for a 3 hours class and then go to school. Then go to get my puppy! I have a full day ahead and possibly no sleep tomorrow with a new puppy! :-)

Greys is back!!!!

I am excited tonight as Grey's Anatomy is finally back!!!! I cleaned off my coffee table so I can work on my homework while watching Grey's.







Some of the events of my day:

• I got done writing my history paper and emailed it to my teacher him to review my draft. This is a big thing as I need to have this done this week so I can get my password emailed to me for my LAST exam in History! I have been nervous about if he was going to get back to me in time.


• I got to bed around 4am but couldn't fall asleep! I had about 4 hours of sleep before my alarm went off for class.


• I always drink an energy drink (caffeine free) during my New Testament class. It isn't natural for me to be some where at noon. I find having an energy drink makes me feel better!


• The reason for me mentioning the energy drink is because I but it inside by book bag and when I got to class, A hole had managed to get puntured in the side. This got all my books and calaender wet! I did have about half of my energy drink left but no carbonation. It just wasn't as fun today.


• While I was in my New Testament class, I was talking about the History paper I wrote. One of the girls has had this teacher in class before and told me he was tough. I started worrying the rest of my class about him emailing me about what he thought about my paper. I should have checked my cell phone as I had an email at about 1130 with the suggestions he had for me. I am going to finish that up tonight and submit it to be graded! I really am going to finish this History class on time!! Graduation, here I come!!!!


• I finally came home today and ordered my graduation announcements. I should have them in about a week. I really hope nothing happens with them arriving in that time!


• I didn't realize all my books getting wet from the incident of the energy drink till I decided to have lunch and to read while I was eating. My American Government book got it the worst and I worked this afternoon separating all the pages so they will hopefully dry better.


• After all of this, I went back home to get my jump drive and to possibly mow my front yard. My grass is very tall and I was hoping to mow it last week but I was too sick to even think of it. Today wouldn't had been any better as I get short of breath a little easy. While I was putting gas in my lawn mower, my neighbor came over and told me that he mows lawns and was wanting to mow my lawn. I agreed till I have more time to mow my lawn myself. He will be here tomorrow! I have taken some numbers down but hadn't had time to call.


• After talking with my neighbor and getting my jump drive, I headed to the Mudhouse to get some much needed homework done. My battery went dead in my wireless mouse. The touch mouse pad makes me crazy when I have to use it! The music in the Mudhouse today was getting on my nerves. Then some girl was talking loudly about her rehab and possible felony she may be charged with while eating. After fighting with the touch mouse pad for over an hour, I finally decided that being at home may actually be a better place to study today.


• I have three research papers left. The next one being due on Monday. I work Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I hope to at least get started on it tonight. I also have two assignements due by midnight tonight. I actually have lots to do and need to get busy!

Under the weather . . . .

I have been quite ill the last few days. It hasn't helped me with all the loads of homework I have!!! I have two papers to write this week and I think I might actually start feeling a little better tomorrow. I finally was able to get in and see my doctor today and he told me that I have a sinus infection along with acute bronchitis. No wonder I have felt like crap!!! I have been running a temp since last week and thought it would go away on its own but instead, a new symptom came about everyday! I am glad that I have an inhaler and antibiotics to help me get over this so I can concentrate on getting done with school.


Over the weekend was the roughest. I had 5 chapters to do in my History class for a test I had to take on Sunday. I was quite excited that I did get it done and I got a 94%!! I now have an 88% in this class. I have a paper to write which my goal is to have it done by Wednesday. Then I can take my final exam next week and be done!!! Then I will be down to 3 classes. That will be nice.


On Monday I still went to class even though I wasn't feeling good as it was the first day of my Capstone class. I received my cap and gown that day. We did talk a little about graduation and the pinning. I am getting excited and really can't wait till I get done with this History class so I can stop worrying about it and getting it done on time!


I have been a little lazy today since I haven't felt good. It has been fun laying around with the cats all day! I have got to kick it into high gear the rest of the week!

Camp Scrap

I have been all excited about Camp Scrap! Then I woke up at 0430 on Friday morning with muscle aches, temp and chills. I took a couple of Advil and went back to bed. I woke up when the Advil wore off and too some more. I still went to Camp Scrap but it just wasn't as fun since I didn't feel good. I loaded up on Advil before going and was feeling okay till about 2200. The muscle aches were coming back and I just felt icky!!! I did learn some new things and enjoyed Camp Scrap and even won a prize!!! I got 8 cans of alphabet soup from k.i. memories, felt numbers and letters, and a date and number stamp! It was worth it even though I didn't feel good! I got home and took my temp. and it was 101.4!!! Yup, I am sick.



I really don't have time to be sick so I am hoping that I wake up feeling somewhat better. I have 5 chapters to read and study in my History correspondence class for an exam I am taking online Sunday. I can do it!!! I am determined to get this class done by the deadline to graduate!!



I am off to get some rest so I can wake up feeling better! At least I hope so.

It is getting closer . . .

to my graduation!!! I am keep trucking along on getting all my papers and studying done. I have hardly had any sleep the last week and so excited that I will be able to sleep tonight AND I don't have to get up early for anything tomorrow!!!! I got up early today for my second e-mar class. I was told from people who took the second class that things made more sense. Will, they don't!!! I just have more questions. My handheld today was telling me that meds weren't in my patients profile when they were on the computer put not my handheld. I would add the medication so I could give it to my "pretend" patient but then it would enter it twice in the computer. The week we go live with this at work, I won't be there as I will be doing finals and graduating. I am going to come back to work and be all confused and supposed to be a superuser at that!



I am excited that I got my research paper back today that I wrote on Ephesians. I got a 93%!!! I figured my grade and I have a 89% in the class. I hope that I am able to do better on the final and on the remaining quizzes to pull of an A! That would be awesome!! I am working hard at getting my history class all done. My American Government class is going okay. He has given up an opportunity of getting 20 bonus points but I haven't decided if I am going to do that or not. I have to decide fast as I have to email my teacher as he wants us to have it done by next week. I start my dreaded Capstone class next week. This is the 4 week class with 3 research papers!! I don't understand why they try to kill us like they do! I plan on these papers being the last research papers I ever write!!!



I am at the Mudhouse and they must have the a/c on as it is freezing!!! I left my house as it was too warm in my bonus room and now I am in coldness. I will just have to type real fast to keep myself warm! I have goal on getting my American Government notes typed and to maybe work on my quiz for New Testament for next week. I hope to at least get one chapter done in my History as my goal is to have all 5 chapters read by Sunday to take the unit 2 test. I am still waiting on my password to get into the test. If the school doesn't email it to me by early afternoon, I will be calling!!! I have to have this history course completed by April 30th or I won't graduate!! I am not about to let that happen!!!!



I had better get busy!!

Busy as a bee! BZZZZZZZZZ!

Okay, I have been a little busy lately and haven't taken time to blog. I really don't have time now as I have a research paper due by noon tomorrow that I need to write. I have two paragraphs done so it is a start! I just need 6 pages! No sleep for me tonight!!!

I hope by tomorrow evening that I will be able to share my CKC-St. Louis experience. I had a blast and would do it again!!! I really hope I can next year! I have something very exciting that might be happening around the same time so we will see how it works!

I had my American Government class tonight and I was surprised when I got my paper paper back that he only took off one point! He commented that I put thought into my paper. If he only knew I wrote it at work on my 15 minute break! I read the section of the book for the paper, took a few notes and then got into my email and started writing from the main ideas I wrote down. Then when I got home the next morning, I took that email, copied and pasted it into a word document and made a few changes and it was done! AWESOME!! I did pretty good on the test today too. I don't know my final grade yet but I missed 8 questions out of 40 which I am happy with! I just hope he liked my essay responses to the essay questions! I really like this teacher. He used to work with the government and tells some fun stories of when he was in Russia!

Okay, I need to really get busy on this research paper so I can get it done and hopefully get a few hours of sleep before class tomorrow! I can't wait till I graduate so I can sleep! :-)

Busy month ahead . . . . .

Wow!!! Is April going to be busy!!! I have so much to do for school this month and I might not be blogging as much! I really need to cut down on my fun internet time and get everything done. At the end of the month, I am going to be done with my History correspondence. I have got a game plan going to get this completed. I should also be able to get my puppy at the end of April! I am not sure how I am going to have time to get ready for the arrival of my puppy. I am making school my first priority so I can get everything done and graduate. Then I can have some fun!!! :-)

This Friday I am making a trip to St. Louis to attend CKC. I really feel like I don't have time for this but I am going anyway. I was planning on having my research paper done for New Testament. I do have my research done, I just need to sit down and write the paper. I am going to do my best to relax and not worry about school and enjoy myself. I feel like that is going to be a little hard! I am looking forward to some scrappy fun and meeting up with some friends!

Tonight, I am going to work on writing a short paper on what the proper role is of the president as commander in chief. I am having a hard time with that paper! I also am going to get two more chapters done for my history. I am hoping to take my first exam by Sunday. I hope it works out that way! I find it irritating that I can't just click into my exam. I have to email someone and tell what day I am taking the exam. They will give me a password so I can get into the test. I am sure there is a good reason for this but it is annoying!!! I guess it can take up to 3 days to get a password.

I got something awesome today!!! I got an email from my border rewards that I could get 40% off one book over $20. I thought of the Photoshop CS3 Bible book! I really wanted it but it was $40. I was able to get it today for $24!!!! I am looking forward in using this book.

I am off to get some studying done!!! I might have to back for my CKC trip as breaks from studying!

I *heart* Photography!!!

I had a little fun photography session with a guy at Best Buy. I went in last week and asked for a few tips on the Canon 40D. It was busy but he told me what days he worked and to come back then and he would be happy to show me some things. I went after class today and brought my camera in with me. I have never ventured into the manual setting on my camera as I don't understand all the shutter speed, aperture, etc. He went through all those settings with me and was taking different pics so I could compare them. I really appreciate him taking the time to do this for me! I can't wait till I can have more time to use some of the tips he told me!

Then he also was putting different lenses on my camera. I really want a wide angle lens so he put that on my camera and WOW!!! I love it!!! I didn't like the price!! I took a picture with it so I can compare it also. I hope I can get that lens before I go to Paris!! I mentioned that would be great to take pictures of the Eiffel Tower and he agreed with me! :-) I might have to find a cheaper one though.

I really, really hate school!!!! Today after being on Spring break I had to go back to school. I had a test in American Government. I did horrible on this test!!! I went over the study guides but couldn't get all these committees all straight in my head. I am not sure where he came up with one of the essay questions! We hadn't talked about it in class. The next study guide for next week is kinda long! I have gotten things highlighted in my book, I just need to type all of it up. Thursday morning I get to see how bad I did on my mid-term in New Testament! I am soo sick of school! I am plan to study till my brains ooze out so I can be done!!!!

I should really be in bed at the moment. I was waiting for some laundry to be done so I can put it in the dryer before heading to bed. I am off to bed now!!!

Over the Edge?

I have a pretty full plate right now. I am taking 11 credit hours and working full-time. I hardly have time for anything else. I have a hard time getting my homework done sometimes. I get to work last night and I have been selected to be a superuser for the new computerized e-mar system. Yup, someone wants me to jump over the edge!!! I have to go to three classes with each being about 2-3 hours long. The upside of this is that superusers get a little more training than the regular training other staff receive.

We are all dreading the e-mar system. I remember when we were getting ready to go to computerized charting and we were all scared! I prefer computerized charting now. The downfall of it is there isn't enough computers. That will be a problem when we go to e-mars! We will have to have the computer to pass meds. It will be interesting to see how all this is going to work. I was really hoping that his would all happen after I was done with school!!

This morning after I got off from work I went and studied some of my History. Then I went to the seminary to do some research for my paper in New Testament. I found out that I had less than an hour to do what I needed to do as they close the library for a church thing. I wasn't really understanding that. So, I went and got someone to help me so I can get started on my research!

I was able to find the book I wanted to make copies of. They have a scanning system that will scan your copies into a pdf file and email it to you. It took me a bit to get this done as it was 71 pages. I hit the done button to have it emailed to me and I was waiting and waiting for it to show up on my ipod touch. Nothing. Then the machine printed out a failure notice and the librarian pointed out to me that I used a comma instead of a period in my email. Ohhhh, please don't tell me that I have to do this again!!! He said unfortunately I had to recopy everything again!! I was more careful in typing in my email address and made all those copies again. Then they were getting ready to close but they found the book I needed to check out and I was on my way! I was glad that I got everything done! I should have done that first and then went and studied my History!

Tonight I have been working on writing this paper for American Government and study for the test tomorrow. I went to hang out at Barnes-n-Noble tonight to study. I also learned that that at&t hot spot I can hook up to for free!!! AT&T is my internet provider I have and my uncle told me all I had to do was sign in at any hotspot at no additional charge! So awesome! I just wish my laptop would last longer than 1 to 1 1/2 hours! I was getting my paper written for my class tomorrow and it gave me the warning that my laptop was about to go dead. I was glad that I was able to save everything!

I hope everyone is having a Happy Easter!!!

I have been at my Grandma's this afternoon. It seems like I am always missing family get togethers and she was happy that I was actually able to with everyone. I was glad too as I am tired of missing family get togethers! That is part of being a nurse though. We all had some lunch together and sat around and talked. It was a nice afternoon!

My Grandma has a sweet little dog named Buffy. She always greets me and wants me to play with her! I think she knows I am an animal lover! I got a cute picture of her using the sports action on my camera! I will have to post it when I get back home.

I had packed all my school books this morning so I could come to the Mudhouse after my family get together. I have been more productive the last few days than I have in the beginning of my vacation/spring break. I am a procrastinator at heart and I really wish I wasn't!!! I seem to concentrate better when I have a pressing deadline. I am actually ahead of schedule than what I normally do. I actually have my New Testament questions answered to the best of my ability. I have a few answers I can't seem to find or are questionable. I have my terms for American Government typed up and I am going to start on the small paper. I am excited that Wednesday after class, I will just have to look over my quiz questions instead of trying to find the answers!!!

My next project will be starting my New Testament research paper. I have made copies with my super slow all-in-one printer/copier/fax of some of the larger books that I only needed a few pages out of. That narrows down to me carrying one book! Then I also need to start working on a couple of other research papers! I have a total of 5 research papers due and 3 little papers in American Government. I hope to never write another paper again after I graduate!!!!

I am off to work on my studies!

I have gone to the dogs!

I went outside to get the newspaper today and on the front page in the side column, it talks about arf fest! My community is going to have the arf fest the week before the artfest. I *might* have my pug puppy by then but I most likey I won't. My pug pup will be just 6 weeks old! I am excited about learning about all the dog events going on in my town now! The cat lady is going to be a cat/dog lady now!!!

I got lots accomplished last night. I did get my terms typed up for American Government and got the questions typed up for my New Testament. I still need to answer the New Testament questions which I am going to do today. I still need to write my little paper for my American Government class. I just hate writing those papers!! I am not all up on the government and how it all works and find these papers hard. I have also been getting all my materials together for writing my research paper in my New Testament class. I will at least have the paper started so I can work on it slowly!

Last night after I got home, I started cleaning! I am getting sick and tired of my kitchen table being loaded down with stuff. I started going through everything and shredded and recycled things. Felix thinks it is great as he has another place to stretch out! Crazy cat! I finally organized my towels. The cats can get the door open and they will sleep on them. GGRRR!!!!! I got everything back in order. I hope to get a little more done today.

In two weeks is my CKC-St. Louis fun!!! I need to sit down and get some kits put together with pics. I have to have something to work on for the crop! I can't wait to spend time with my ScrapJammie friends!!!

I had better get busy as I don't want to stay at the Mudhouse to late tonight. :-)

Spring Break so far . . .

I only have two days left of my vacation from work and five days till I have class again. I can't believe how fast the time has went!!! I have so much I wanted to accomplish and I haven't. The most important thing was to spend time with my nieces and I did do that. Even though I haven't gotten to accomplish some of my goals, I still have had a good spring break/vacation.

My major goals was to get a couple of these research papers written. The first one was my New Testament research paper. I really want to do good on that paper since the mid-term was insane!! I was hoping to make it to the Seminary tonight but they close early because of Good Friday. They are open tomorrow so I have got to get myself up at a decent hour and get my research finished! Then I can start on my paper this weekend. I will feel better if I can get that done.

The second paper I wanted to get started on is for my capstone class. I have to read a chapter in our text and write about what kind of leader I am. Then I also have to write my goals and include my resume and cover letter. I don't think this paper will be too hard. It just seems like a bunch of busy work!

I also need to work on my history correspondence. He includes so much out of these first 6 chapters for a 50 point test. Phew!!! I am not excited about that. I wish I had taken history in my early college years. I wonder how I have gotten this far without it. Hmmmm.

Things I have to get done is to study for a test in American Government and get a small paper done. I also have some questions to answer for my quiz in New Testament next week. I am planning to get started on these tonight. I just can't wait till May!!! All these papers and constant homework is wearing me out!!!

I hate allergies . . . . .

I never really did make it to bed last night as I had planned. I always sit and look through a magazine or book all cozy in my bed. That is why I normally fall asleep with the light on!! All of a sudden my allergies were giving me fits! I couldn't stop sneezing! Then my nose wouldn't stop running. It wasn't a pretty site. I think I finally feel asleep around 0630. I was only planning to sleep four hours but yet my body had other plans! I slept through my alarms and woke up at 1530!!! AARGGHHHH!!!!! The weather is beautiful and I can't seem to wake up!!!

My plans for today was to get most of my homework done. I still plan to do. I have been wanting to clean out my garage. I am not sure this warm weather is going to hold up this weekend as I have heard talk of snow on Easter!!! I am off to be at the Mudhouse and I hope it isn't jammed packed!!! It is hard to find a table at times.

I am off to try to salvage the rest of my day!!!

Beautiful Day!!

The weather is much better today!! It was a little windy but in the 60's with the sun shining! I didn't get to enjoy the outdoors as I had hoped but I think tomorrow is going to be just as pretty!

I normally can get myself flipped to a normal schedule after working nights fairly easy. For some reason, I just haven't done that very well this vacation. I did do better today and hope to go to bed very soon! I will have this normal schedule thing down by the time I have to go back to work!!

I finally got out of bed today at 11am so I could watch Ellen DeGeneres. I just love her show!!! After her show was over, I got ready for my day but my allergies were bothering me. Yuck! It wasn't to bad, just a stuffy nose and some sneezing. It could have been worse! I had an appointment this afternoon and then a few errands I wanted to run.

One of my errands was to get new shoes! I need new everyday shoes and work shoes. I love these one pair of Ked's shoes for everyday and normally get them at Macy's. They aren't carrying that style anymore. I decided to go to Shoe carnival and they had the style I wanted! Yay!!! They have buy one pair, get the second pair 1/2 off. I went looking for tennis shoes for work and found a pair! I was so happy that I was able to find everything in one place! I am looking forward to wearing new shoes tomorrow! :-)

While I was driving around, I all of a sudden heard my antenna starts to work!!! My power antenna that hasn't worked for months has all of a sudden started working again! I have this internal antenna on layaway and not sure if I really need it. The catch is that I am unable to get a refund on what I put on layaway, only store credit. It might go out again before I get my stereo out of layaway. I am not sure I like power antenna's after the experience I have had with this one.

I had some reward bucks to use at Border's. I sat and looked at books for a while and decided that I had to get Photoshop CS3 Photo Effects Cookbook! It has easy to follow instructions for quite a few effects that I want to learn. SCORE!!! :-) I have been playing with some effects a little tonight. In the previous post, I desaturated the pic and then did selective coloring. Her shirt was black to begin with but she was wearing shorts that didn't match. I brought the color back out of the heart and stripe on her shirt.

I am hoping tomorrow that I don't really have to many errands to run. I really need to work on some homework!! I am hoping to hang out at the Mudhouse tomorrow! I must get to bed!!

A day with auntie!

I had a fun couple of days with my nieces. We went and had pizza at our fave pizza place and then I tried to make it to Sam's before they closed and missed it by 10 minutes. I ended up making a stop at Macy's to try to find new shoes. They didn't have the style I normally like but by this time it was after 2100 so we headed to Barnes & Noble. We sat and looked at books till 2230. Then we made a quick stop for milk and I was asked if we were going to go home! The girls aren't used to staying out late like their aunt is!

I didn't slept very well that night as I woke up with fire-breathing heartburn! That is what I get for eating pizza! By the time it calmed down, it was almost morning. I thought I would wake up with my alarm. The girls never bothered me for breakfast as they normally do so I endedup sleeping till 1130! That is when they started being hungry! I got up and asked them if they wanted breakfast food or if they wanted to have lunch. I think they thought I was crazy! They wanted breakfast. I fixed us all a bowl of cereal.

After breakfast, I went to take a shower. Then the girls were to follow. I didn't finish getting ready which was a mistake! While they were taking there showers, I feel asleep!!! They didn't bother to wake me up. They kept watching you tube videos on my computer. The phone rang and woke me up and I finished getting ready. Then the girls still had some stuff to do to get ready. I will sometimes have them take showers the night before to help with this but we were party girls and didn't get home till 2300! I wasn't going to make them take showers that late. I have got to not take naps so I can keep them on track! Three girls and one bathroom doesn't work very well.

After we finally got dressed and primped, we went to the coffee ethic. I was disappointed that they didn't have any frozen coffee drinks. I was told they are planning to add that to the menu in the future. We all had a smoothie and they were yummy!!! I have some pictures that I will have to post after I can get them loaded and edited. I keep having technical difficulties getting pics to load. It is driving me mad!!!

Rain, rain, go away!!

Today has been a lazy day!!!! I am trying to get out of the night shift schedule so I can be a normal person on my vacation but it hasn't went very well!!!! I feel as if I will be able to sleep normal tonight though. We will see.

Once I finally got around today, I went to check out Creative Car Audio. I have had the same car stereo for 10 years and it is showing its age. My power antenna in my car stopped working quite some time ago. I have opted to get an internal antenna instead. Much cheaper! My stereo won't let me play CD's as it keeps them and won't eject them. I finally got the CD out today and have decided not to put anymore in!!!! I have an HD stereo on layaway for my car!!!! I can't wait!

I have my nieces tonight and tomorrow and we are going to have some fun!!!! I just hope it stops raining so we can enjoy the outdoors!

Pug Luv!!!

I am so excited as I found out that the lady that I am getting my pug from had pug puppies born on Friday!!! She had two litters of pug puppies! Yay!! I am planning to get a female pug and name her Phoebe!!! I am so excited about getting a dog! I am just not sure what my cats will think. Eventually, we will all be one big happy family!!! :-)

Today is my first day of vacation from work and I am also on Spring Break. I am excited about spending time with my nieces! I am also going to be writing a couple of research papers and get things lined up for all the others I have to write this semester. I also need to get super busy on my history correspendence course! I also need to get my assignments done for my classes next week. I have so much to do for school and just keep thinking that I will have all kinds of free time after I graduate to do fun things!

I started my vacation with a bang this morning! I had to send a patient to the unit around shift change. It made for a crazy morning. I was glad that I was all caught up with passing meds and my charting up to that point. I was doing my best to get out of on time this morning but I ended up leaving an hour late because I wasn't going to leave the oncoming nurse to transfer a patient to the unit. I stayed till that was complete. I am just glad to have a little break from work.

I am off to try to organize and clean my house a little before I see my nieces tomorrow! I hope that Wednesday is a better weather day for us to enjoy the outdoors. :-)

Have passport, will travel!!!

I am so excited with I finally received my passport in the mail!!! It actually took less than two weeks! I was surprised about that. I can leave the country on a whim now and I love having that option!!! If someone ask me if I want to go to India for the week, I can go!!!! :-) I don't see that happening but you never know!

I am just hanging out at the Mudhouse with no real reason. I did bring all my school books but just relaxing. I did register for CKC-St. Louis! I am excited!! I am meeting up with a couple of girls from one of the MB I frequent. I can't wait!!! I need to start preparing for this while I am on break since I will be to busy the next week with school/work to really have time.

Earlier this week I received an email about how to fake cross-processing in photoshop. Elsie Flannigan has got me curious on how to cross-process and when I purchased photoshop CS3, I learned that they have a preset for cross-processing in curves. But it makes the picture look to green or it washes out the pic to much. This email explained how to make alter the curves on your own to get the effect. I finally did it and it doesn't look all washed out!!! I am totally loving this effect!!! I have also searched and seen other ways to go about cross processing also. I need to play around with the different options and see what gives the best effect! I love playing with Photoshop!! I found some images that I posted that give before and after of cross processing.

Watch out Firedog!!

I am qualified to work for Firedog now! I went to the bookstore today and did a little reading about networks. I reviewed a chapter about adding your printer to your wireless network. I also learned a tip on how to link my itunes with my laptop. I took this knowledge I had read and went home to try it. Well, IT WORKED!!! I am now printing from my laptop anywhere in the house!!! I am also able to get my itunes library on my laptop. Awesome!!

I should have done that to begin with and save me some headache with the Firedog customer service. I just hope it doesn't mess up again!

Absent Minded Professor

I am not very happy with my New Testament instructor. To start out, when he gives us quizzes, they are matching. He always gives us one sheet with the questions and one sheet with the answers. He somehow didn't make it to class with the answer sheet. We had to write the answers in. I rely on that sheet as I am not very good with spelling all the Biblical terms and names. I felt pretty good about the quiz but today I missed 5!! I normally get 100%! It appears that he counted wrong some right answers. We aren't going over the quiz till we return from Spring Break. Then after class he happened to find the answer sheet. ARGH!!!

So today, we have a mid-term exam. He told us 30 subjects that was going to be on the test and that it was going to be 30 questions all multiple choice. I highlighted all these subjects in my notes and on the quizzes. I looked things up in the book and read about them. I thought I would do pretty good. We start class and he is writing a bunch of words on the board and then he announces that he somehow didn't make it with mid-term!! What?? That is all we are doing in class today and he doesn't have it with him? So, he had us take a pencil and paper out and number to 30. He just reads of the multiple choice questions. He did add 8 matching. I was ticked as was my classmates. I read, re-read and re-read the questions over before making my choice. That wasn't possible. He did repeat questions but I do so much better when I can read it myself and see the spelling of these words!!! The majority of the subjects he gave us wasn't even on the test. I totally flunked it. I am glad that I had done fairly well on the quizzes to this point as I will need all those points!!!

I have been a little stressed this afternoon thinking of what I got on the mid-term. I am on spring break from school and so glad!!! I start my vacation from work on Monday morning. My plans is to actually write a few research papers. I have to many near the end of the semester and trying to spread them out!!

Rough week . . .

The last week has been really busy for me. I really thought that I would have some time to myself this weekend but that isn't going to happen. There is an online crop that is going on with my Sassy Scrappers that I wish I could do more to participate!

By Monday night, I was on my third 12. I am always tired on these days and was upset when I get to work and see that I am getting 3 new patients + 5 patients that I am responsible for!! We had 4 nurses that evening and why I had to start out with 3 new admits was beyond me. I was thankful that a day shift nurse was going to stay over and help me with the admits. :-) She was a life saver for me!! She told me to just worry about my other patients while she admitted my new ones. Then when the charge nurse tried to give me a fourth patient, I had to say something!!! I did end up with a fourth admit but much later in the night when I was a little more caught up with myself.

Tuesday, I got off work that morning and we had 7 inches of snow while I was at work. I had parked in the parking garage that night. I get out to my car so ready to get home and the locks are frozen!!! I had no way of getting in my car. I also had cars waiting for me to get in my car to take my parking spot. I was in distress standing in the cold and they were probably thinking, "Hurry up Lady!!!". It took me about 15 minutes to get my passenger side to unlock. The driver side just wouldn't open. So, I crawl in through the passenger side to get to the drivers seat. Finally!!! My journey home was a little slow as the roads had not me cleared off very well. I finally did make it home safely. Once I did get home, I had to shovel my driveway to get my car in the garage.

Tuesday afternoon I had a hair appointment. I was surprised when I woke up that afternoon that the roads were pretty clear. I was happy that I was able to get my hair cut. I even got me a new style. :-) I spent some time at Barnes & Noble afterwards to relax.

Wednesday, I had my American Government class and had a test that evening. I for some reason couldn't get myself to wake up and didn't give my self as much time to study has I had liked. I didn't like the test either!!! It was just his tricky multiple choice and 4 essay questions. I got a 70% on the multiple choice section and find out next week how I did on the rest. I hope I did good on the essay part! I think I did fairly well, at least I hope so!!

Thursday, I was woke up at 0750 after going to bed at 0430 that my doctor isn't going to be in the office again and I needed to reschedule my appointment. I was a little ticked off by this as it isn't easy to get an appointment and this has happened twice in less than a week. They couldn't reschedule me till March 27 or I could still come in but see the PA. I finally opted to see the PA. I am getting tired of my appointments being cancelled. I couldn't get to sleep after that so I had to go on with my day with 3 hours of sleep. ARGH!!!

I decided to leave a little early to enjoy a Big Fat Burrito for brunch. I didn't get to class till noon, when it starts, as we have a mid-term the next week and I didn't think we would have any questions to write down. I was wrong!!! I get to class and we have 20 questions!! His overheads are always poor quality and I can't read them so I always have to move to the front of the class to read it. As soon as I started, he took the overhead down!!! I was ticked already on how my day started and that didn't help it any!!

The next class event that ticked all of us off was when we got to the quiz. He always makes the questions matching but for some reason, he gave us next weeks quiz matching. So he couldn't find this weeks quiz so he told us just to write them out. I don't take time to learn how to spell these words as he always has that sheet. He told us he wouldn't count off for spelling. There was only one I was unable to answer. I just hope that he likes the answers I gave!!

I was really hoping to get out of class early as we usually do so I could get my allergy shots before my doctors appointment. I had to wait till after my doctors appointment. I am going back to the doctor in two more weeks to see how my B/P is doing. He told me that I have pre-hypertension but I had a few high B/P's that got me concerned. I am trying to watch my sodium intake closer and that is hard when I don't have time to cook! I have been eating soup or having sub sandwiches. I am doing my best. I am hoping to make it to the gym more while on spring break.

I decided to run home quickly to get my Sims2 Freetime expansion pack as it has went on sale at Best Buy and Circuit city. I had called Best Buy and they told me that would still match the price since I have bought the game recently and to show proof of the price at Circuit City and they would match it. I was able to get this game for $16.79 that the original price was $29.99! SWEET!!! I hope to get this loaded on my computer soon and have some fun with it!

Then I also went grocery shopping and ran into a cousin I haven't seen in a long time and we were catching up. It was a great visit! Then I finished my shopping and got home about 2100. I was hoping to get a little scrapping done that evening but I couldn't keep my head up and ended up going to bed at 2200. I ended up sleeping till 1430 on Friday! I had to work Friday night so I was glad to get the extra sleep.

Saturday morning I stayed up till a photography shop was open. I was hoping to find out if I can get a wireless remote for my camera. I found out they do have one but it would be about $500!!! So, I will be doing without a wireless remote. I thought it would be kinda fun. They do have more affordable lenses for my camera so when I am ready, I will have to check them out more.

That was my wild and crazy week. I just have a couple more months of this crazy schedule that I have. I can't wait to only be a nurse and no more juggling school with work!

Bad, Firedog, Bad!!!

One year ago I had a bad experience with Firedog service at Circuit City. I finally got things worked out and got my network to work. Then a few months later, I can't get things to print from my laptop. I can still get things to print from my desktop but for some reason my network isn't recognizing my printer. GGRRR!!! I went into the store a few months ago and they told me that it would be $80 to have them came back into my home to repair this. I decided that with my tax return, that I would get this fixed.

Thursday I go to Circuit City and actually ended up with the manager of computers assisting me. I explained what I needed and he told me that it would be $80 to have them come back into my home but they had a new service that would be good for 6 months for $100. I thought that sounded good as if a few months later my printer does this again, I can just have them come back out. I left the store happy that I am finally going to get this fixed.

I didn't call Firedog till Friday afternoon and this is when I learn that they won't be coming out to my house. The lady told me that it would either over the phone or I would have to take my computer to the store. I can't bring my whole network into the store. She wouldn't set-up in-home service for me. It even said on my receipt that I had purchased 6 months in-home service. I told her I wanted my money back since it wasn't what I needed. She told me I needed to contact the store since I purchased it in the store.

I call the firedog people in the store and they are clueless!!! I told him what has happened up to this point and that I was needing a refund. He told me that they can't do this in the store that you have to call Firedog to get a refund. I tired to explain to him that I already did and I was told to call the store. He put the phone down, didn't put it on hold so I can hear every thing they are saying in regards to my situation. He was trying to get a manager to talk to me but I heard him tell his co-workers that the manager won't come to the phone. WHAT?!?!?! The manager is who I need to authorize this and he won't come to the phone and talk to me???? They pick up the phone and then proceed to tell me that they are going to see what they can do to get me a refund and they will call me back.

By 8pm, I still had no phone call. I went ahead and called the main Firedog line to see what I needed to do. They told me I had to go into the store to get my refund. She told me that when I arrive to the store to have the cashier call Firedog to verify that I never used the service and I should get my money back. Also while talking to her I had explain to her why I wanted a refund so she told me the service that I needed was $40 and it would be online. They would be able to fix my printer and put it back on my network. I thought great!!! Someone that knows what they are talking about. I later found out that she didn't know what she was talking about. I went ahead and purchased this over the phone and would activate it when I returned home.

I arrive at the Circuit City store and gave the cashier my receipt and instructed that she needed to call firedog to verify that I didn't get use the service. She took my receipt and I could tell she didn't know what to do. She went and got somebody else. The lady she went and got remembers me calling earlier and told me that they already refunded my money. I never got a call back saying this was taken care of. They printed me a receipt showing that I was refunded back. GGRR!!! That would have saved me a trip from driving all the way to the other side of town if they would have called me.

I get home and decide to go ahead and activate this online service that I ordered. It won't let me sign in saying my email address is already in the system. I call Firedog again and have to go through why I need the service again!!! She doesn't know what to do about me not being able to sign in. She transfers me to a technician to see if we can fix this. I have to explain again why I am calling and then the technician tells me that the service I was sold wasn't what I needed!!! WHAT?!?!?!? So, she gives me the phone number of the place to call to get yet another refund but they are closed.

I wake up this morning and called the phone number she gave me as it was after hours when I was doing all this last night. I call and go through this whole saga again and she keeps putting me on hold would come back and put me on hold again. Then came back and told me that they are unable to give me a refund that I needed to call their headquarters. I thought that was the number I was given. I was only given the customer service phone number. I am steaming by this point by the run around I have been getting. She transfers me back to firedog as that is where I got my refund started yesterday. I have to call back on Monday when the people that gives refunds are back in the office.

This is the end of my firedog days. I will never use their service again and actually never got to use it this time. I have spent about two days trying to get this mess all smoothed out. I should be able to walk into the store, give the problem I am having, they sell me the proper package and then to have them come out to my home and repair it. I guess I will be researching on my own how to repair my own network.

Puppy Kisses!

I have had an interesting week. Today after I got done with some of my errands, I decided to go play with a pug!! The pug I played with kept giving me kisses and if I laid her down, she would jump at me to pick her back up! She was adorable!!! I can't wait till I can get me a pug of my own!!!

Work has been insanely busy. We just don't have enough beds in the hospital for the amount of patients that are coming in. There are times that admitting is requesting a bed if they happen to know if a patient has been discharged but hasn't left yet. We have been quite full this week. I am so ready for my vacation from work!

I was rather excited today when I got my New Testament quiz back and I got 10/10 points! I did a good job of memorizing things on such a short notice! Phew!! In American Government this week, I made an 86% on my second test and have an 84% in the class. Much better than I thought!! I also got 10/10 points on my quiz in American Government this week also. Yay!!! In a couple of weeks, I have a mid-term in my New Testament class. His test are difficult!!

Icy, slick Thursday

What a day Thursday was!! I had class and it was raining and sleeting. We even had heavy downpours with the sleet and thunder! Crazy weather day! I had quite the adventure getting to school that morning.

The roads were all slick and slushy so you had to be careful! My school seems to never cancel classes so here I am trying to make it to class. We have a few stop lights that will take your picture if you run a red light. I was at one of those stop lights when the light turned yellow but I was to close to the line to stop and it was too slick to make a sudden stop. I went through the light. I was driving slow and the light turned to red before I could make it through the intersection!! You are supposed to be all the way through the interection before the light turns red or you will get ticketed. GREAT!!! I hope that the weather was taken into consideration as I will be upset if I end up with a ticket in the mail.

I made it to school and the parking lot was almost empty!! Not a good sign. I literally slide all over the parking lot before I got my car stopped. I was glad that there wasn't much in the parking lot! I got to class and maybe half of the class was their. Class seemed to be going as normal. Our quiz questions for next week was on the projector, etc.

One thing I have a bad habit into doing is to work on my current quiz during class. I normally have enough time to finish it and study it enough to take the quiz at the end of class. He annouced that he wasn't going to keep us the whole time since the weather was bad so I started working on my quiz right away. About 5 minutes later, he is saying to clear your desk for the quiz!!!!!!!! I had only gotten one questions done!!!! My neighbor let me look over her questions quickly so I can hopefully make a somewhat good grade. We had class for 20 minutes that day and I am curious what I will be making on this quiz. I am glad I have done good on the other quizzes as I will need those points if I didn't get a good enough grade on this one. I am going to make sure to have my questions done before next week!!!! I still don't study the questions till class.

It kept raining and sleeting but the roads seemed to get better by the afternoon. I had some errands to run so I got done with those and got home earlier than I would have. It was a crazy day!!! The weather man keeps saying it is supposed to get up in the 50's but it hasn't happened yet. I am not sure where they are getting their info but I am loosing faith in the weather man!!!

Warm weather?

Our 40 degree day was only for one day!!! That was yesterday which I slept most of the day. Today it is back in the high 20's with 0.5 inches of ice in the forecast. Double yuck!!! As of right now, the weather might be in the 50's by the weekend. I am not trusting it till it gets closer. I had seen that it was going to be in the 50's starting today but I see that isn't going to happen!!

I was able to attend my meeting and got my credit for my trauma hours. I have to have 8 hours of trauma education a year. I have two down and 6 to go!! Yay!! I am liking going to the classes better than doing the self-study modules. I am glad that they are offering more classes.

I only had to work a 4 hour shift last night. I had asked a month ago to have 23-07 part of my shift off so I can get studying done for a test I have today. I also have a short paper to write for this class in regards to the two party system vs. multi party system with the American Government. I was planning when I got home last night to work on the paper and then go to bed. I couldn't keep my eyes open! I kept doing the head bob thing at my computer so I went to bed. I woke up early this morning to get things done for class. I am happy that I am not going to class half asleep today! I think I am going to need all my brain power for this test.

I had better get busy so I can do good on my test!

Ready for Spring!!

It is cold and rainy today. The ice has melted off of the trees but there is a threat for 1/2 inch of ice again. *sigh* I did see some hope for some warmer weather starting Tuesday. At least temps in the 40's!! That will be much better than what we have been having.

I am sitting in the Mudhouse and it is packed!!! I wasn't able to get a table near a plug-in so my laptop will be dying in 30-45 minutes. I wish that laptops had better batteries. I was hoping to get a paper written and the study guide for Chapter 6 in American Government. I should be able to get part of it done here.

I was glad that in American Government last week I got an 80% on my quiz. Man! I find his multiple choice questions hard! I just hope to be able to get enought points in this class to graduate! I also need to seriously work on my History correspondence course. I barely have time to get my studying for my weekly classes. Phew! I really hate my work/school schedule as I normally don't get to do fun things that I would like.

I was happy to get my federal and state tax return back so I did a little shopping after work Saturday morning. I got me a couple of new Cricut cartiridges that was on sale at Michaels. I now have A walk in the garden and paper pups. I can't wait till I have some time to use them! I also got some water color pencils. I hope to have a day on my spring break to be creative!!!

I believe I should get busy before my laptop dies.

Allergies??

Yesterday when I was getting ready for school, my allergies were kinda bothering me. They kept on bothering me in class. After class I went and got my allergy shots and was sneezing a little bit and couldn't breathe! It just kept getting worse during the day. I just wanted to go home to rest but had a meeting at work so I decided not to go home.

I went to hang out at Borders and was planning to do some studying. I couldn't keep my eyes open to get any studying done and was sneezing. I just sat and relaxed till it was time for me to leave for my meeting. I get to work and the meeting room was empty. It was after normal business hours so I couldn't find anybody in ed services to find out what was going on. I decided to go up to the floor I work on to see if they knew anything. As soon as I got on the floor the secretary said, "Did you not get your message?". I told her I left my house at 1130 that morning and haven't been back home. I guess they had left me a message that the meeting was cancelled. I got resigned up for another time which will be after I get off from work. If it gets cancelled, all I have to do is get to go to bed a little early! :-)

I couldn't stop sneezing and they wanted me to stay and work that night. I just didn't feel very good so I had to decline. I came home and got in my PJ's and decided to curl up on my couch and watch some recorded TV that I am behind on. I couldn't stay awake!! I finally woke up at 2030 and decided just to go to bed. I woke up this morning at 8am. I have had lots of sleep! I can't breathe very well but I have stopped sneezing! Yeah! I have to work tonight so I am getting ready to take a nap.

I am looking forward to having the weekend off even though I have lots to do for school.

More ice . . .

I can't believe that we have had another ice storm. Today it is supposed to get up to the high 50's and most of it will melt. I have heard that there is more ice/snow coming our way tomorrow. I really hate winter and can't wait for spring!!!

I am not sure where all the time goes. It has been a week since I last blogged. I was going to last night after class but I was so tired from only have a few hours of sleep that I was going to lay down for a little bit. That turned into 7 hours!!

I actually have to get ready for school and have a full day ahead. Hopefully I can make another update later today.

What a day . . . .

Yesterday, after making my blog post, I started sneezing like I do sometimes with my allergies. I am not sure what triggered all that but I took my allergy medicine - po and nasal - and finally it helped! I have never taken my medicine before and it helped with the sneezing, so I was happy. I had to take a nap after that and finally woke up at 1130 to finish with my American Government paper and try to study for the test. I didn't get much studying done but I did get chapter 3 read which was helpful to me.

I get to class last night and I am about to fall asleep I am so tired. He started reviewing with us over Chapter 3 and then went back over chapter 2. He even let us sit and read out notes for awhile. I hadn't been able to get some of the terms figured out so that made me a little nervous. Then he gave us the test. I felt pretty good about the test as I did more on the matching than I had thought and he went over the bill of rights enough that I got that down. Those crazy multiple choice questions that he does!! He also had one essay question.

After we all got done with the test, we had to trade with our neighbor and we went through and graded them. I didn't want my neighbor to see what I had done! I didn't do very good as I think I am going to end up with a "D "for my first test! Totally sucks! He did give me all my points for my paper. He keeps telling us that we will all do fine if we show up and participate in class. So, I have a feeling I am not going to get an "A" in this class! As long as I pass, I will be okay.

I was hoping to stay awake last night to get some homework done and that didn't happen! I really need to work on my New Testament quiz this morning and that hasn't happened either. I have had a strange turn of events this morning and actually have to make a stop before going to school this morning. I actually have to leave the house in 30 minutes so I had better get a move on!!

Crazy day ahead . . .

Here it is almost 6 am on Wednesday and I still don't have my paper written that is due by 4pm today. Yuck! I just hate papers! This paper is to be a summary of selected items in my American Government textbook. Since I am up early and can't seem to do anything at my desk without Felix being on top of all my books, I am tempted to head to the Mudhouse for some tea and get this paper written plus study for my test in this class too. I am scared of this test so I sure hope that it is better than that quiz last week! I tried to get some of this done last night and I couldn't hold my head up from lack of sleep!

I had went back into my blog to January 2006 when I was excited about the classes I had. It was funny to read just knowing how burnt out I am of school. There was a time that it was enjoyable! That particular semester I remember well. It included classes that used the nursing skills I use at work and built upon them. These classes that have to do with theory and research, leadership, etc. are okay but not really what I want to do with my nursing career. At least not at this time!

Monday night at work was one of the busiest we have had in a long time!!! I couldn't keep up with everything that was coming at me but I guess I was doing okay as my patients weren't complaining. I had one patient tell me that I was quick with his pain medicine everytime he asked. I trying to hide the fact that I was extremely busy! I was soo glad to go home yesterday morning and away from all the chaos from work! I just hope it has calmed down when I go back to work later this week!

I found out yesterday that I am getting Spring Break off from work!!! No work or school! That will give me enough of a break so I can refresh my thinking and finish out my semester!! I should help me also get caught up with some things to without more getting piled up on me! Only 40 more days! I hope that warmer weather will be here by then too!

I have made my appointment to get my passport! I am soo excited!! I need to gather all my documents so I will have them all ready! I couldn't get an appointment till the end of the month but I should have my passport well before I need it! :-)

I suppose I should get some of this homework done but Felix is streched out on my desk! He is such a mama's boy! :-) Well, blogger is not cooperating this morning and letting me add a picture.

Busy little bee!!

I have been too busy!!! I am really hating my school schedule this semester so I am glad that it is the last!! I have been a little stressed today as I have a test and a paper due in American Governement next week. I am working Sat. - Mon. night which is causing most of the stress. Later today, I have a inservice to go to at work that is 4.5 hours long. I hope that I am able to get the Chapter 3 terms done today! I need to get more sleep! I woke up at 1am after taking a short nap and haven't been back to sleep yet.

My first quiz in American Government was scary!! I got all the terms typed up but didn't have time to really study them as I was working. He went over new things in class and then gave us like 5-10 minutes to study this and then gave us a quiz. I got the quiz and I wanted to cry!!! They were all multiple choice but 5 choices with A. I only, B. I and II only, C. I, II, and III only D. II and III only E. I and III only. I hate multiple choice questions like that. After we got done, he did let us talk it over with other members of the class and to change answers. I felt better that everyone else felt the same way I did!!! I am afraid of the test next week if this is what it is going to be like!!!

We had lots of snow yesterday and I am sure it will be a little slick out today. It was starting to get slick last night after I got done attending a trauma education at work. I was glad that I was getting to go home and get in my jammies! I was so tired that I fell asleep around 9pm trying to load tax cut on my laptop! I woke up with it loaded and did my taxes upon awaking! :-)

I have a long day ahead so I had better get back to bed for a few more hours of sleep!

ipod touch fun!

The other night I was taking care of a patient that had an iphone. He kept playing with it and I had asked him about the iphone and what he thought of it. He started showing me some of the features that it had. He was telling me how the ipod touch has the same features. I was intrigued! Since I had already upgraded my phone and it was past my 30 days, I was unable to upgrade to the iphone. I thought I needed to make a trip to Best Buy after getting some sleep on Saturday!!

I make it to Best Buy and was looking at the ipod touch. I see that it has the internet on it and has most of the features of the iphone. The one in the store wouldn't hook up to the internet but one of the employees had one. He hooked his up to one of the speaker systems so I could hear music and also showed me the internet and the itunes store. After playing around with it and I had to get one! I am now an owner of an ipod touch and I love it!!!

I have always been against itunes because of an incident a few years ago. I had about 40 songs downloaded onto my computer and also had some songs downloaded from Napster too. My computer crashed from excessive spyware and I lost all my songs. I didn't even know spyware existed until my computer was being taken over by them! Napster would reinstate all my songs for me without paying for them again but itunes wouldn't. I have had some bad computer things happen to me in the past but hopefully I have grown wiser from this! I am really liking itunes after since the last time I used it. You can download movies, TV shows, music, videos, and podcast. It is so much fun!!

While I was at the Mudhouse today, I had my ipod touch out getting on the internet and a guy came up to me and asked me how I liked my ipod touch. It even attracts the men! :-) He showed me his ipod touch and I noticed he had more applications than I did. He was sharing with me how he got them. To cool!

This has caused me not to get my homework done sooner! I finally completed my study guide for my American Government class this morning - with short breaks playing with itunes! I can spend the next two days reading my notes so I can be ready for class. All this government mumbo gumbo is confusing!!

One thing I did learn today was about the Boston Tea Party. I decided to google that to get more info and got to wikipedia. In the explanation it discussed how they destroyed many crates of tea bricks. I was curious what tea bricks were and looked that up. Tea bricks were also mixed with binding agents such as flour, blood, or manure in order to even better preserve their form. Hmmm . . . . . interesting. As I sit here drinking some ice tea, I wonder if it was from a tea brick and if they even do that anymore!

I really need to get to bed as I have to wake up early to go to class this afternoon and then go to work afterwards. I am sure by Tuesday morning, I will be wanting some sleep!!

Yup, it is school . . . .

I have realized that school is the reason for all my strange sleeping schedules. I had to get up early to go to class yesterday and had a bunch of errands after class. By the time I got home, I was tired!! I fell asleep and then woke up at 1 am. I have been up ever since. I am hoping to go back to bed soon. I do work tonight so it should actually help me with staying awake at work but I have all this homework to do and I can't stay awake!

My New Testament class was what I expected since I have the same instructor as last year. I get to class early and found out where my class was and the door was locked. There was 4 of us wondering what was going on and where everyone else was. We had decided to go ask. On the way I saw another list of where classes are and they had changed the room but it wasn't changed on the list at the door. I walk into class later than I was hoping and had to take whatever seat was available. I really wanted to sit where I was last semester so we will see if I might be able to get a different seat next week.

I have been a little frazzled tonight of my work schedule. I am glad that it is finally posted BUT they did to me what I didn't want. I work Mon, Tues, Fri for a few weeks. I have school on Wednesday and Thursday. That leaves me very little time to be awake during the day and get things done. I can't wait to graduate so these issues won't be an issue anymore. I say I need to work my every other weekend and then they take me off them. I have always dreamed of being just a student but that will never happen.

I really think I am going to sign up for the photography class. It isn't for credit and it would be a fun break for regular studying. I have lots to get accomplished this weekend for school. I have got to figure out a gameplan to get my history correspondence class done. I am off to work on some homework and then get some sleep!

American Government

My first day of class wasn't too bad. I walked into class right at 4pm and the teacher had moved all the desk into a circle. There were only 12 of us. It is a small class which I like. I don't have a research paper to write BUT I have a bunch of small papers to write. I say yuck! I hate papers!! These papers only have to be 1-2 pages long answering and summarizing certain pages in the book. It doesn't sound very hard so I hope it won't be too bad. I really think I am going to like this teacher.

I was hoping to wake up somewhat early today and get some errands run before class and get my books. I ended up sleeping until 1pm!!! I couldn't believe it. I was sooo tired too and didn't feel like getting ready to go to class tonight. I finally got up the energy and got it done! I ended up walking into school just barely in time to buy my books and get to class. I was quite excited as I only need 3 books this semester and they are small books!!! I am excited that I can carry all my books with me and it won't break my back! :-)

After I got out of class today, I went to get me a sub sandwich. I got to the sub shop, ordered my sandwich and then realized I left my debit card at home. I also was out of checks and no cash. I had to pay for my sandwich with my credit card which I hate using. I was planning to have a sandwich and then run to Sam's to get much need items. Sooo, I had to go back home to get my debit card and got me a new book of checks then off to Sam's I was. I was glad to finally get this task done!

Tomorrow I have New Testament and I have the same teacher so I hope he hasn't changed much of the way he teaches. I am going to have a lot of studying to do in American Government to keep up with the class, quizzes and exams we are going to have. I have a more peaceful outlook on this semester since it is my last semester. I just know that this is going to be the last time I have to worry about school schedules and then the rest of the year I am planning to enjoy myself and rediscover some of my hobbies!

Back to school . . . .

Tomorrow is my first day back for the Spring semester. I am looking forward to this being my last semester!!!! I have American Government tomorrow. This teacher never posted on Blackboard so I have no idea what the class is going to be like. I am looking forward to finding out. Thursday, I have New Testament. I have the same teacher has I had for Old Testament so I am hoping he is going to teach like he did last semester.

Next Monday I have that dreaded Capstone class with all those crazy papers!!! I was on blackboard looking at the BSN community and found a list of assignments I was supposed to save into an online portfolio. I don't have an online portfolio and everytime I ask a faculty member about how to set one up, I get no where!!! A year ago when I learned about this one teacher told me she would email me the instructions. I even emailed her to remind her and still got no reply. Last summer I had found out that my advisor left the college and I was in limbo! When I finally did find out my advisor in the Fall, she had no idea what I should do. I still have no online portfolio. At least half of the assignments I was supposed to save wasn't being done in the classes when I took them. I am not sure what is going to happen about that.

This morning when I got off from work, it was icy!!! I was able to get home safely but my road was super slick!!! I made it without running into something. It has been super cold today and makes me wish for Spring! I am curled up in my warm bed with my cats staying warm. :-)

Friday, Friday . . .

I have been going to bed about 2am and waking up around 10am the last couple of days and I have been able to get more done in the evening. :-)

Today I thought that I would get a head start on getting my books for school. I almost called the school to find out the hours of the bookstore but didn't. I get to school and the bookstore is closed on Fridays! *sigh* I have one class that says there are a list of needed books but the other two I have no idea. I guess I will be getting books on the first day of my classes.

I also wanted to get my eyebrows done. I just started getting my eyebrows done a couple of months ago. I felt like it was time to have it done again. I had planned to go to the place I went the first time. Yesterday they told me it would be an hour wait so I opted to come back today. She told me to call ahead of time and gave me the number. I call and they told me they could see me in 4 hours! I had planned to be home in 4 hours so I decided to head to the mall and went to a salon that takes walk-ins and got in right away! I might be going to the place in the mall since they told me they prefer walk-ins. My eyebrows always sting and itch the first few days. I like the way it looks with them done now. I got something started!!!

I ran a few more errands and went back home to get ready to hang out at the Mudhouse. I spent this tranquil time returning emails. I had a hard time finding a parking spot today since it is Friday night and wondered if I was going to be stopped. They started this no cruising downtown but you have to cruise around sometimes just to find a parking spot! Nuts. I never thought cruising was a problem downtown. I enjoyed my time at the Mudhouse tonight. Next week, I will have sort of assignment or reading to do! I just have to keep in mind that this is my last semester!!! That will get me through.

I am going to work on creating a binder for my acrylic stamps and maybe creating something else! :-)

Organization . . . .

I am slowly working on getting things organized. I have gotten me a couple of files. One is for just 2008 stuff and the other file is categorized by certain things you should file. I am looking forward to getting back on track with balancing my checkbook and making this a daily task. I spent the morning going through bills, setting up my bill pay and then filing them. :-) It may be odd but it felt good to get started with getting more organized.

I have also been working on getting my house more organized too. I was proud that I finally cleaned out a corner in my living room that I seem pile mail, magazines, etc. in. You can actually see the floor now and I love it!! I really wish I had this weekend off so I could accomplish more organization. I have lots of shredding to do!

I spent some time this evening making a binder that I got the instructions off of Donna Downey's blog early last year. I used to visit her blog every so often and in the last few months, I have to check it often! She is so creative and just love the videos she makes! Todays post is ultra cool with all the digi brushes! I am feeling the need to download some brushes! I also need to figure out how to load them and use them though! Here is a project I just found on her blog that she has been using the brushes on. I would love to meet her someday! :-)
