Only 2 weeks till finals!

I have been busy working the last week and I get a four day weekend and can't wait! Even though, I have to much work to do for my Microeconomics class! The study guide for that class is 80 questions! I also have to write a paper for the Pilgrims Progress book I have been reading. My Statistics class tonight was easy, I thought! I was understanding everything on the first try! A lady that sits behind me called me and this other girl that I sit next to the "whiz kids"! She says that we just punch everything in our calculator and we are done and she is still trying to figure it out! I haven't always felt like a "whiz kid" but at least I look it!

Thanksgiving was a good day, or I should say the day after! Not for the shopping but that is when my family got together since I had to work Thanksgiving. My Grandma was there and it was nice for us all to be together.

Has anyone every tried this Sudoku puzzle? I was at Barnes & Noble one night and they have books everywhere on how to work this puzzle. I went home and looked it up on the internet and figured out how to solve this puzzle! I went and got me a book tonight so I can have more to solve and have some solutions in the back when I get stuck. They say that you can work them in 10 to 30 minutes but it has taken me a little longer! I am hoping when I get faster at this I can do it faster and then work up to the "evil" puzzles!

It has gotten quite cold here and I am not really enjoying it! I am not a cold weather person at all! I need to go South for the winter!

I need to finish some homework that is due today for Microeconomics. I had better get busy so I can get some sleep!

Another day in the life of . . . . .

I rented a couple of movies tonight. My plan was to straighten up my house and organize some things but I need to replenish my diet A&W and on the way to the store to do that I stop and rented movies. I watched the movie "Crash" - good but kinda sad. I normally don't watch sad movies but I didn't realize that it was going to be sad! I would recommend it. I watched it on my laptop in my bonus room as I made the cards for a swap I am in! I have to say that I tackled the new blinds for my bonus room and they are up. I just needed to do it another day since they had me so frustrated last night.

I got a few errands done today - one being my oil being changed. It ended up being pricier than I thought. My sister had given me a coupon for $10 off synthetic oil change. I found out AFTER my oil has been changed that my bill came to $56 even with my $10 discount. The guy told me that I should see an improvement in my gas mileage. I had better! Beware of synthetic oil - it is expensive.

I went to the Mudhouse tonight to get some studying done which actually didn't really get any done. When I first got there it was quiet and I hadn't checked the message boards I like to read. It always takes awhile to get through all of that! By the time that I was ready to get serious, it was packed! It was too loud in there that I couldn't concentrate on what I was reading so I packed up and left. When I go outside to my car I have a note on my car. Hoping it was a love not from a secret admirer but no such luck. It was a note telling me to look at my front license plate and they "didn't know if it was like that before". The truck parked in front of you with license plate of ___________. I stood back and oh my! My front license plate is bent completely out of shape! I just stood there in disbelief that this has happened. It doesn't look like any other part of my car was damaged but my license plate. I guess that is good but how do you go about getting new license plates? And to top it off I have personalized plates! ARGH!!!! I wish people would just watch what they are doing! They changed all the parking to parellel parking downtown so I wonder how many other people this has happened too.

I need to get to bed so I can get me some good sleep in my nice warm bed! Mmmmm!

Craziness!

I made a stop at Circuit City last night and there were people with tents, chairs, sodas outside the store. I wondered what was going on. I went inside the store and that left my mind as soon as I entered and conducted the business I had. When I left the store, as I saw the camping people again, I thought what are they doing? I saw a sign outside the doors "line starts here for XBOX 360"! I thought these people were crazy just to camp outside of the store all night just to get an XBOX 360! It isn't warm enough to do stuff like that for a video game console!

My days off from work go way to fast! Today will be my fifth day off from work and I don't feel as if I have gotten that much accomplished. I was going around doing things I need to do around the house and thought I would hang my new blinds for my bonus room. That left me frustrated and decided to go downstairs and watch a movie. I got the first brackets up and was ready to attach the blinds when I realized that I didn't mount it far enough to the edge. I have tried to unscrew one of the brackets and it won't move. I thought I would at least hang the second and remembered to mount them on the very edge. Well, when I was trying to use my drill with the screwdriver mount to help me get the screws in, the head of the screw broke lose and my bracket had nothing to hold on to! Now I have two screws without the head and I still have to remount for the bracket! I have waited since July to finally get these and it has been a mess trying to get them up!

I haven't been able to sleep until around 0500 everyday. I think I got myself all mixed up when I slept until 1600 on Saturday and I haven't been able to get back on track. I guess there is no reason to get back on track.

I watched Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. Interesting. I couldn't remember what it was about but wasn't expecting it to be what it was. It was okay.

I feel as if I might be able to fall asleep. I do believe my cats and I need to go to bed.

Lazy Sunday

I am at the Mudhouse, supposed to be studying but so far haven't started and I have been here for 2 hours! I spent the first 1 1/2 hours having a nice talk with a friend. :-) I realized today that if I am going to get my homework done for my classes which aren't due till another 1 1/2 weeks that I have to do them before returning to work on Wednesday. I am working a crazy schedule because of the holidays. I work two days, off one, work three days, off one then work one day then off for four days! I will be in a coma by then! I guess if I had to I could get some homework done this Friday but I am sure I will be to sleepy and won't accomplish much.

I won't get to spend Thanksgiving with my family as I have to work the day before and the night of turkey day. My Mom was trying to have it a day I was going to be off and I was working it too! Oh well. I will get to spend with my second family - my co-workers! That won't be that bad. Our patient census normally drops around the holidays so we will see what happens.

I guess I should be figuring out ANOVA for my statistics class and then tackeling my Microeconomics class which I have a discussion and a quiz to take. It is starting to get busy at the Mudhouse - it was like a ghost town earlier!

Dreaming of the Caribbean

"Work so hard night and day
now we get the payback
trying so hard, saving up the paper
and now we get to lay back" Luxurious - Gwen Stefani

I love this new song from Gwen Stefani! The main part of this song makes me think about my vacation I am planning to take! I have worked hard, saved up the paper and now I get the payback to lay back! And on the beach for that! WOOHOOO!!!!

I really think St. Lucia is the island for me! I have learned that I can go hiking and go biking in the rainforest! Ahhhh, I am so excited about that! I still need to get in touch with my travel agent to see when I could go. She might now of more adventures I could take!

Well, I haven't been too productive. All I have done is sleep!!!! Since Friday morning I have slept 24 hours!?!?!?! I went to bed last night at 0100 and thought I would have no problem waking up at 1000 but instead slept through the alarm and woke up at 1600! I had slept 9 hours during the day Friday after getting off from work! The funny thing is that I still feel tired. I just hope that I can sleep tonight so I can have a somewhat normal day tomorrow!

Ready for this semester to be over!

I thought another countdown was in order! I had another Stats test today. Not sure what to think. We were able to use our notes but I am unsure how I did. The true and false is what always throws me off! I have one assignment to do in Microeconomics that is due later. I won't have to return to school for two weeks! WOOHOO!!! I have some statistics homework to do but I am unsure if we will get a new assignment in Microeconomics or if he will wait till after the break.

I have my application for a passport and actually went to talk to a travel agent about going to the South Pacific. Well, those trips are $3,000 to $5,000!!! I might opt for a cheaper trip for now. I am looking into St. Lucia so I can see rainforest! I haven't priced it yet and I am unsure when I would be able to go. I am thinking about next summer since I won't be in school. I want to go to the beach!

I probably should go to bed as I have to get up early to finish my assignment in my class. I am still addicted to reading those travel blogs! I will have one of my own someday!

My paradise

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I thought I would share my latest layout for the circle journal I am in. This circle journal was titled "Where is your paradise?". I choose the beaches on the island of Oahu of Hawaii. This was a gorgeous beach! The day that I visited this beach the movie "Blue Crush" was being filmed. When I watched that movie I was able to recognize the beach they surfed at! I had better get to bed! I return to work today and don't want to be too much of a zombie!

Last day of vacation . . . .

It is a sad day as it is my last day of vacation and I don't want to go back to work tomorrow. I will have another vacation in January and that really isn't that far then it starts with me on vacation once a month till July! Isn't that awesome?!?!?!?! I have worked at my job a very long time and have worked up good vacation benefits. They are getting ready to change our vacation benefits so it better not ruin me being able to take a week a month! If it does, I will just leave the country! :-)

I had a few errands to run today at certain goverment agencies. They are always so much fun to deal with! My experience wasn't bad at all. While I was on that side of town I went and got my application for a passport!!!!! I can't wait! I found out today that my birth certificate has the proper seal so I don't have to request a new one! WOOHOO!!!!!!! As soon as I have the money, I am going to get my passport and start saving money so I can see new places!

Yesterday I went and rode my bike at the trails and it was a little chilly! But I went 7 miles yesterday. I hope to keep building till I can go 10 miles at a time and more if I can! I need a longer trail almost!

I am at the Mudhouse, as I am frequently, to study but I haven't gotten very far. I didn't bring my Microeconomics book as I didn't have a new assignment but when I got logged into my computer my new assignment had been posted. I have been waiting for my study guide to be posted for my Statistics test and it hasn't yet. I hope it happens soon because I work the next three nights and the next day I should have awake is the day of the test! I had better get busy!

Independent or Dependent? The question of the day!

Last night was my Dad's birthday and I spent the evening at my parents house. We grilled out turkey dogs on the chimnea in the backyard. The weather has been very nice here! I wish it could be like this all the time! I hope that my Dad had a wonderful birthday!

I mentioned last night to my parents that we should not buy gifts for each other for Christmas. Instead we should put our money together and go on a vacation. They didn't go for it. My little niece told me no we need gifts. So I guess we aren't going with my idea. . . . .

I have been addicted reading the travel blogs. I want to be like the people that quit there jobs and travel for a year! One couple's blog I have been reading is very interesting! They have had some scary moments but a lot of fun moments! I have been able to learn about different countries and different parts of this world that I didn't even know existed! If you ever want to learn peoples adventures go there! I am even going to work on a travel blog and tell my adventures up to this point and hopefully future adventures!

I had my Statistics class tonight and we learned about dependent testing. I can do the math but to figure out if you are doing independent or dependent testing is still a little confusing to me! I will have to read the book more to see if I can understand it better! We have a test next week that I am a little scared about! There are too many formulas to remember!

I have got to get busy with working on my swaps and some scrapbooking journals for my circle journal I am in!

Oops . . . . .

Well, I learned how to get EVERYONES attention at the Mudhouse tonight. I was getting something out of my bag when I guess I tugged on the cord of the lamp that was sitting on my table. I fell to the floor and the bulb shattered! Oh my! All you could here was gasp and everyone staring at me! Good grief! Sure didn't mean to do that! The funny thing of this is that I was sitting at a table without a lamp and I decided I needed a table with a lamp so I moved to a table with a lamp. In the end, I should have stayed at the other table because I was left studying without a lamp anyway. I did get my homework done though so I really don't have anymore homework to do till Tuesday when I end up with more! I am in the process of straightening things up in my house then I am going to start on these swaps that I am in!

Wonderful vacation

I have really enjoyed my vacation so far. The first Friday of every month we have an artwalk downtown. I asked my sister if she wanted to go with me as she has always wanted to major in art. We took Shilo, Jasmine and Justice with us too. It was fun - and alot of people! I don't think I had ever seen that many people downtown! It was a great time and we didn't even get to every place that was participating! I am hoping to go back in December so I can see more art, if I get off from work that is.

Saturday my sister and I decided to go bike riding. We rode our bikes 6 miles with Shilo and Justice! Shilo was worn out from it! I just love riding me bike! I just wish I had more time for it and that the weather wasn't getting ready to get cooler!

I also went to the movies last night and saw Saw II. It was awesome! I must have been really into it as it seemed as if the movie just started and it was over but in reality it was 1 1/2 hours long. The ending was awesome! It even made me understand the first Saw a little bit more and a possiblity for a Saw III. It was well worth seeing!

Today has been a lazy day. Except I did mop the kitchen floor, I don't consider that a lazy moment! I am currently at the Mudhouse getting ready to finish my homework for the week and start reading "Pilgrims Progress" by John Bunyan. It is a forced reading for my Microeconomics class and the I have to write a short paper about it. I just hope that I can get this book done in time for me to write the paper. I like to read books at leisure and it can take me a month or two to read a book since I normally just read before I go to bed. Sometimes waking up with the book as my pillow!

I had better get serious about studying!

Two peas in a bucket - Meme challenge #16

a meme is an idea that is shared and passed from blog to blog, like a question posted in one blog and answered in many other blogs.

This weeks challenge from two peas in a bucket is to list your top ten of scary movies. Mine are:

1. Silence of the Lambs
2. Grudge
3. Saw (Can't wait till I can see Saw II)
4. Mothman Prophecies
5. Ring 1 & 2
6. Cujo
7. Poltergeist
8. It
9. Carrie
10. Amityville Horror - the original

I love scary movies! The movie in this list that I that was the scariest (it was based on true events) was Mothman Prophecies. SCARY!!!! Anyway, I believe I am ready for bed and will have to pursue additional blogging later! :-)

Maybe a normal day . . . .

I actually woke up at 10 a.m. this morning after sleeping all night! I just find that amazing since I accidentally slept through my alarm Tuesday and woke up late in the afternoon! Maybe I can get on a somewhat normal schedule while I am on vacation. :-)

Last night I loaded the Sims 2 nightlife onto my computer. My Sims can date now and even have a meter to let you know how the date is going. I haven't learned all the ins and outs of the nightlife version yet. Not even sure I learned everything you can do in the University expansion pack yet!

Well, I have tried my luck at some home repairs and I have failed! Ever since I moved into my house, I never installed my shower head that I have. I went to Lowe's last night and bought me some teflon tape so I can do this myself. How hard could this be? Well, I can't get the old shower head off! I have used all my power and it won't come loose. If the shower head has been there since 1953 when my house was built, it might be there forever! A couple of months ago I was sick and tired of the slow leak from my sink in the bathroom so I tried to tighten it (with my bare hands) and it won't turn on at all now. I thought I could fix this with some pliers to open it back up - no such luck. It just spins in a circle! I compared it to the cold water side and I do believe I need a new seat in my faucet. What a bummer! I need to hang up a new smoke detector to and I think I can handle that since I don't have to mess with any wires. I started that this morning and figured out I am going to have to drill a new hole in the ceiling. It would be nice to have a handy man around the house but I haven't found me one good enough to keep! :-)

I was looking around on the internet last night at travel blogs. I love reading about peoples adventures and hope to someday have an adventure to tell! I have had a few adventures but I want more! My two adventures I really enjoyed was Hawaii and Mexico. I really would enjoy going back to Hawaii cause I want to go to Kaena point and ride my mountain bike or hike it! I need to go on an adventurous vacation next year. I need to start training now so I can run up Diamond Head! :-) Here is a link to a gorgeous picture of Wakiki Beach and Diamond Head. Hopefully someday soon!

Picture problems

I am having difficulty getting pictures to post. Those cute pictures of my nieces I can't get to post. I am trying a new entry to see if I have the same problems. If there are no pics, then it didn't work and I will try again tomorrow!

Finally . . . .

I am on vacation! I'm not going anywhere, just enjoying being able to get my school work done without having to worry about my work schedule! I just finished my Microeconomics homework and will get more homework tomorrow! If I can get my Statistics homework done tonight too then I will only have to worry about my new assignment that will be posted for Microeconomics tomorrow!

I am thinking about going to Laguna Beach for my next vacation. Or some other beach that would be somewhat warm. I have to get out of this town! For some reason this year when the weather started getting cold it has really bothered me! I hate cold weather and I wish I could go south for the winter! Maybe someday I can be like the birds and fly south but until that day I am stuck here. I am going to work on getting my passport cause starting the beginning of the year you have to have one to leave the country - even places that didn't require one before. I want to be able to travel at the last minute if needed and have the world as my limit! I would rather just travel the rest of my life instead of be stuck in one place. *sigh* I might have to go and be a travel nurse after all to get rid of the travel bug or it might make me realize that I really do like it here. I like the big city life and where I live sure isn't big city life! It is a boring conservative town!

I am currently sitting in the Mudhouse. When I first got here tonight it was empty and now it is pretty full. My table I am sitting at keeps sliding forward and I keep nudging the guy in front of me. They have removed a rug that was on the floor and my table keeps sliding with a little bit of pressure. If he was cute, it would be alright cause I keep getting his attention. Oh well, maybe better luck next time!

I get to spend time with my nieces tomorrow and Jasmine has been bugging me cause I keep going to the Mudhouse without her so I think I will take them both to the Mudhouse tomorrow afternoon after they get out of school. Then I am going to be meeting up with my sister and going to MSU to see a play with one of Jasmine's friends are going to be in.

Monday night we went to a church to celebrate Halloween. It was pouring down rain all day Saturday so it wasn't very good weather for trick or treating. I took cute pictures of my nieces in there Halloween outfits! They went as 50's girls with poodle skirts that my Mom made!

Oh my! I have been sitting here at the Mudhouse for 4 hours and I need to get out of this place!
